Tom SellarBio:Tom Sellar, an arts writer, journal editor, and performance curator, is Professor of Dramaturgy and Dramatic Criticism at Yale School of Drama. He is also Editor of Theater magazine, Yale’s international performance journal, and a frequent contributor to the Village Voice, the New York Times and other publications. Tom regularly attends all kinds of performances in New Haven, New York, and around the globe, and is always keen to hear about—or recommend—interesting events. A proud resident of Brooklyn, he is a frequent and enthusiastic traveler and enjoys meeting JE students from all parts of the world. thomas.sellar@yale.edu |

Nari ShelekpayevBio:Nari Shelekpayev is a Professor at the Department of Slavic Languages and Literatures. He has broad interests related to urban and cultural history of the Russian Empire, Soviet Union, and post-Soviet states, including performance and soundscapes. At Yale, he teaches courses on Bulgakov’s Master and Margarita, Eurasian cities, as well as an introductory course on the history of Russian and Soviet music. |

Richard A. SilvermanBio:Born and raised in Memphis, entered Yale & JE at 17, was an intramural athlete and printer in the JE Print Shop. Withdrew after junior year. Joined the Army, married Nancy, served in Military Intelligence in Germany, where daughter Melissa was born. After discharge, returned to Yale, where son Joshua was born. Graduated with BA in 1970, awarded Carnegie Foundation teaching Fellowship and accepted into the PhD program by the Yale Philosophy Department. Left without the degree to teach at The Children’s Center in Hamden, CT. Yale admissions career began in 1977: Six years in Undergraduate Admissions, 16 years as Director of Admissions at the School of Management, and almost 20 years as Director of Admissions at the School of Medicine. Retired in 2018 and, with Nancy (retired earlier from the American Red Cross) entered the next chapter of their life together. |
