Francesca Ammon is a Ph.D. candidate in the American Studies Program.  As an undergraduate, she studied civil engineering at Princeton, before working for five years in New York and London as a strategy consultant.  She then returned to school to embark upon an academic career.  At Yale, she has completed a Master of Environmental Design degree at the School of Architecture and is now pursuing her Ph.D. in the Graduate School in the areas of 20th century American urban history and the history of the built environment.   She is always happy to discuss any of the above fields.  In addition, she welcomes conversations with students who are interested in applying to graduate school in history or American Studies, who want to know more about management consulting, or who are considering making the move from the sciences/engineering into the humanities.

Eleonora Buonocore, born in Siena, Italy, is a third year Ph.D. student in the Italian Department, currently teaching ITAL 110.  She enjoys talking to students about Italian language and literature, and about theatre and film. She already holds an Italian Ph.D. in Medieval Philosophy, therefore she also encourages students who want to talk about philosophy or the middle ages in general to contact her. She has done research in the art of memory, on Dante, on Neoplatonism, Giordano Bruno, and contemporary Italian women novelists and poets.  Since she has worked for the Yale Summer School in Siena, she welcomes any student who wants to talk about the possibility of a study abroad period in Italy too!  In addition, Eleonora is currently hosting an official Italian Table at JE every Wednesday at lunchtime from 12 to 1. If you want to meet her and speak some Italian, you are more than welcome to join the table!

Miles Farmer, JE '07 and Law '12, would like to speak to students who are interested in environmental and energy issues, or to students who are considering attending law school or careers in the policy arena. Miles has experience working for a non-profit on state and local political advocacy, in New York City government, and on the Senate Judiciary Committee. Following law school, he has accepted a job at a large law firm where he will work on energy regulation, project finance, and environmental law issues posed by energy projects. He is interested in the broad policy problems surrounding climate change, as well as the nitty-gritty mechanics of energy project finance and regulation.
